COVID 2nd Vaccination

Due to updated guidance from the NHS, we are now prioritising getting as many people as possible booked in for their first vaccination.

You will still get your second vaccination between 3 and 12 weeks after your first.

You will be contacted in due course to get this booked in separately.

Your first dose will still offer considerable protection against the virus.

Someone who is classified as in an at risk group and is under the age of 65 is someone who is/ has:

  • Pregnant
  • Diabetes
  • Respiratory Disease
  • A heart condition
  • Is a carer

In order to minimise the risks of Covid, you will be required to wear a face covering, upon arriving you will be checked in and have your temperature taken by one of our nurses, You will need to wait outside the surgery and follow our one way system. Please have your arm out ready for the flu jab.

If you have a traditional cold with no temperature you will still be able to have your flu jab as you will be risk assessed before entering the building

(50-64) year olds

Please note that people in the 50-64-year old age group will not be vaccinated until November and December, providing there is sufficient vaccine, and no appointments will be offered for this age group until then. This is to ensure that those who are most at risk are vaccinated first.  If you are 50-64 and you are in one of the other groups which is eligible for the flu vaccination, for example you have a health condition which puts you at risk from the flu, you will be invited earlier.
