Due to the current changing Coronavirus situation  - All Groups and Meetings have been cancelled until further notice - thank you

Altogether Better are supporting Churchill Medial Centre to try working in a new way.

They have worked with 140 GP Practices around the Country to develop work called Collaborative Practice. This involves members of the Practice population (Registered patients) coming forward to gift time (volunteer) with their Practice and work alongside them to deliver activities that will make a difference to the lives of citizens in the community. Examples of activities are:

  • Befriending lonely and isolated patients
  • Running coffee mornings in the surgery
  • Leading walking groups from the surgery
  • Supporting people to use the online booking systems

Please see below for activities currently being run by us

Diabetes Support Group

Churchill Medical Centre and the NHS Champions have set up a Well-being Group focused on Diabetes and the necessary support that is required to maintain a healthy lifestyle.

We have organised a friendly & confidential support group for those with diabetes and their families, through the provision of practical tips and guidance.

Attending will be Berni Reed and a doctor, alongside a NHS Practice Health Champion. The group provides the opportunity to hear from medical professionals offering useful advice, meeting every 1st Wednesday of the month.

This is a free support group that is available to everyone, providing an opportunity to further your knowledge of diabetes and have questions answered relating to diabetes.

Bereavement Support Group

A place people listen, relate and share

It is never easy losing someone you love and we each have different ways of coping which are personal and individual to us.

This is a patient led group run by Practice Health Champions at Churchill Medical Centre; we welcome anyone who has lost a loved one, recently or years ago.

Our bereavement support group will be an opportunity to have discussions, share memories and emotions about those you love, and create strategies to help each other find ways in which we can move forward peacefully.

We offer support and guidance in a safe and confidential environment.

Tea and biscuits will also be provided free of charge.
